The general proximity is good thing for other units.

Somewhere in forums in a topic discussing combat modifiers I could take this:
    “MORALE
    ...
    General in unit: +2
Close proximity to general: +1 morale per star
Far away from general: +1 morale per 2 stars
    ...”

But in MP the general has not stars, or it has?
More: is it true that the general unit has a +2 modifier in morale?

Anyway can someone tell me precisely the modifying combat and morale factor been involved when talking about general and general proximity?

There is no special morale bonus for being near the general's unit in MP. The general's unit works like any other unit.

The +2 morale for the general's unit is correct. It was measured by me in LAN tests, and confirmed by the dev's. Also, take note that the general himself has 6 hitpoints in multiplayer and custom battle. He can have a lot more than that in SP campaign because his health affects his hitpoints. He basically has to be killed 6 times in multiplayer before he dies except for hits from powerful projectile weapons like cannon. The power parameter in projectiles.txt determines how many hitpoints are taken away for each weapon type.

In multiplayer and custom battle, the general always has zero command stars. I did extensive LAN tests on morale for units near the general, and I never saw anything other than the normal small boost you get from having a flank covered. It's not so easy to measure small morale effects because there is a hyteresis in the morale system of about 2 points. In other words, a unit's morale doesn't change with these positional effects unless you do something that changes it by more than 2 points.

Incidentally, I also measured the morale penalty for routing friendlies passing directly through a unit and not passing through it, and I saw no difference. If a unit is withing 1.8 tiles of the router, it gets the penalty which I think is -4 morale, but depends on the undisciplined, disciplined and elite unit characteristic.

    Hi Puzz3D,
its a pleasure to read ur post so scientific argued
Now I thank u because i understand more about general behavior and limts of its employment. I didnt know that genral has 6 lives and now i can understand better what practice could only make me guess. I did some tests in MP and custom battles myself but ur answer is very lightening.
