    Question

    Hi everyone

I've had MTW VI for a few months now and have only played SP. Can someone please let me know the minimum and recommended spec for playing MP. At moment I have low spec dial-up but want to upgrade but not to overdo it.

    Thanks in advance

The computer spec or the connection spec?

I'm on a 512/256 connection and it's handled every game I've thrown at it fine (including 64 player Battlefield 1942 servers). It's kind of annoying downloading files over 600mb but that happens so rarely for me it isn't worth paying for a faster connection.

If you play quite a lot of games then I'd recommend at least 512/256 since mods for other games can regulaly be several hundred megabytes. If it's just for MTW and a couple of other games then 256 or even 150 downstream would probably do.

Of course the biggest cost initially will be the hardware for it, especially if you've got several computers in the house.

Well you can easily use a 56k connection with MTW. Its more a question of the quality of your line. I know several who has 56k and that doesnt cause problems. But if you can get broadband you can download mappacks/mods faster

What is also important is your pc. If you have 800 mhz cpu and up it should be ok.

However once you've got broadband you won't want to go back to dial-up.
