Anyone has seen this before?
I don't know why this happens? Any ideas/suggestions?
(it's not really important, but it would be nice if this could be solved)

i haven´t seen that, yet. but seems funny...
by the way, have the sicilians conquered the papal states?
perhaps that might be an explanation...
Looks like a mistake in the descriptions file in the Loc/Eng directory to me. Are you using any mods?
Nope. They were in exile on Malta after a sneak attack on my mighty Byzantine empire some 40 years earlier. I took Sicily from them. Later on they agreed a ceasefire, and somewhat later they offered a princess (--> screenie).Originally Posted by [b

Yes I do. I modded some names in my game. That may be the reason... At least, it should... I'm gonna check the files I changed... Silly me.![]()
I have the same prob in my original MTW/ VI install. The only changes I´ve made to it is to make the Papcay playable by changing MINOR to MAJOR.
I have that in my game too. It's a bug. Someone knows how to fix this?

It's a bug. If you get a marriage request from Sicilians, they show up as the Papal States. Maybe in an earlier phase of the design period something like that was planned and then forgotten to change. Such things happen a lot in games.

BUMP
I'm currently working on a modlet to rename some factions, some provinces and to fix some names (Byz., Almo, Egy, Turk) and came up with line 312 of DEFAULT_REGION_SPECIFIC.TXT:
@{ of The Papal States}
should be changed to
@{ of Sicily}
It must help (haven't tested yet).

Lucrecia Borgia anyone?
I have noticed this myself, but thought little of it. I'd have to investigate whether or not the Sicilians ever assereted a claim to the Papal states.
Becuase you see, I suspect the Hungarian one is legit. The Burgundians migrated from east of the alps and the adriatic in the time of Caesar, as he famoulsy recordss in de belo gallicum. They were driven back; later, in the Gothic invasians, the Burgunds become a client tribe and settled in what is now Burgundy. But these tribal migrations were often charectrised by splits in which onen group left and one stayed: thus it may well be entirely accurate for the Hungarians to appear as Burgunds. I can't say for certain, but it is definitely not beyond the realms of possibility.

Yes, and the Normans are all Vikings originally, and that includes the Sicilians.Originally Posted by [b
Its much easier to move a ruling clase than a whole populace; many of the barbarian migrations just involved a local populace being subordinated. Arguably, this sets off the dynamic that results in the castel-building era, walled as they were 'against rebellion'. We are not talking about nationa states at all.

True but Pannonia was almost deserted by the time the magyars got there, as was most of Austria when the Bayuwars colonized it at about that time.
Whoa There's another one...
So Hungary = Burgundy, Sicily = Papal States. I wonder what the Golden Khanate would come out like, if they would have princesses...

Let's make this the weird/rare screenshots thread then.

Let me introduce the most uncommonly named English king to you:
I also got a French guy named Gawain I. Guess all those Jihads wiping off their crusades caused some trouble at home.

Jean II must be the most popular guy so that everybody rushes to meet him on the field:

Now, who says rebels are easy?

I got hit by rebel assasins today in a campaign again.
BTW, there are also rebel ships in Norway in Early and in Const. in High.
Beat this:
And I think this is the explanation.

Oh, it's those damm files there are messing up my mod. I thoght it was my mod, but it a bugI think I know what the problem is, but have to look into it.
I have taken a look in the files and found that the order of the factions is wrong in the DEFAULT_REGION_SPECIFIC.TXT . The order needs to be like in the \campmap\startpos\early (high and late). It's one less problem now for my modOriginally Posted by [b

This is a known bug. There is some text in a file that should be modified, but I can't remember which one. I've done it before but don't know if I still have a copy. It was posted some time ago.
