Apart from several NPCs in various Bioware games I kind of liked the rather unmotivated beholder that guarded a treasure in the Sahuagin City in BGII.

Does the talking sword Lilarcor (?) from BGII count as a character?

Deekin. Especially in Hordes of the Underdark.

Bastila, with honourable second place going to Minsc and Boo, and third place for Deekin in Hordes of Underdark.

I haven't played hordes of the underdark.

    BG2 spoiler ahead...

    Spoiler Alert! Highlight to read.
I also missed the Sahuagin City when I played BG2 - I went straight through Irenicus' portal to the underdark.

Minsc is a classic character. Delusional lunatic Ranger with a heart of gold and a hamster named 'Boo' he believes is a 'miniature giant space hamster'. What a pisser. Best audio lines of any rpg character to date, period.

Xan. Pessimistic elven conjuror. Life... is hollow, Our quest is vain, Oh what is the point? and my personal favorite... It seems our resident suicide monger Ajantis lives in a black and white world

Tiax. I never used him in my party but his audio clips rival Minsc's for pure comedy gold. Halfling thief with delusions of grandeur and a tough guy New York accent.

If this is the same 'boss' beholder that lies in a dungeon full of beholders then you won't believe what happened to me. I killed that beholder with my familiar Despite the fact that I had a paladin and a cleric with reflective shields I decided to have some fun and sent my faithful ferret familiar into the room alone I snuck him into the room so the beholder never reacted to his presence. My ferret then proceeded to nibble away at him for what seemed like ages My friends were laughing hysterically as the beholder's hit points slowly dropped by one or two points each round. When the beholder finally did react and turn to fight he was unable to get in any decent hits. That ferret familiar gets my vote for being one of the best familiar/domesticated pets of any rpg I've ever played (Dogmeat from Fallout 1 really takes top honors)

I don't think it's the same beholder, but that's a quality story. I've found confusion/chaos-type spells work amazingly well on beholders/gauths etc. Why kill them when you make them fight each other

Well they also happen to be the most complicated characters in those games... Nothing is what it seems with them.

Although HK-47 is also one of my fave Bioware Characters...

Thats the way to tell the meatbags master Charging blasters just in case, this should be fun...

That talking sword got on my nerves

I say minsc, he def added a certain amount of colour into the game (not to mention a v impressive save vs death)

Nah, that's the Beholder dungeon in the Underdark; what MalibuMan means is the beholder that guards the great shark tooth that you require to get to the rebel camp in Sahuagin city.

For pure comedy: Minsc and/or Jan. The two rule, they are so goddamned funny, especially when Jan tries to take Boo from Minsc

Live by the sword, live a good, looooong time

Also, Lilarcor is worthy for mentioning, I love his one-liners

For most involving enemy: Jon Irenicus/Sarevok. A tie. Yes, I liked them both, Sarevok's bad-asssery and Jon Irenicus' malevolence.

For most involving party-member: I liked Aerie, getting a romance with her was interesting, as well as the romance itself.

For biggest badass: Korgan, I like it when he starts talking tough and evil.

For character suffering most from anxiety: Khalid. Man, he could be downright annoying at times

Boo is the deepest charecter ever made, hes a giant space hamsteryou can't deny the fact that he also impeded an inventory slot in minscs inventory, and when you tried to remove him, minsc would get angry.

I still get the fits when I click on Boo in the inventory and he(?) makes this funny noise (I guess I am just easy to amuse)

    That squeek was hilarious

The best thing about Khalid dying was that Jaheira went from foul-tempered-hairy-armpitted-pycho-feminist-probly-closet-butch-lesbian-stay-away-from-me

    HK-47 for me...

HK-47: Translation: 98% probability that the jawa is the leader of a tribe and his people have been captured by the sand people.

    Player: And the other 2%?

HK-47: Statement: The other 2% is the chance that the jawa is only trying to stir up trouble and is in need of a good blaster shot...Though that may just be wishful thinking on my part

The old guy in KOTOR... seen it all, done it all cynical old git, but hes still great to have along.

Yeah, I liked Jolee, the old Jedi from Kotor. My favourite line from him went something like:

...You know what I hate?? (pauses for thought) ... well, lots of things actually - I am an old man and allowed to be crotchity - but what I REALLY hate is ...

About Khalid's death - it's done now but do think of others, that is quite a major spoiler if you haven't played BG2 yet but you have played BG1

And yes, Bastila's voice is hot, I admit it...

    And HK47 is very cool.

But I must say, there was a difference for me between Aribeth and Bastila...

    Spoiler Alert! Highlight to read.
Aribeth genuinely took me by surprise, but I was sure from the first time I met her that Bastila was going to go dark. It was her arrogance that made it obvious

Hmm...Aribeth was not a surprise to me and I second to you in Bastila in KOTOR

Spoiler Alert! Highlight to read. her lover Fenthik(sp?) was executed just to apprease the mob and the last picture of the story in the begining of Chapter 2 distingtively shows Aribeth's hidden anger in her eyes

Yes i agree that Bastila's arrogance is the most obvious hint.[/QUOTE]
