you're right, i might be getting Flash Player mixed up with other stuff. that is highly possible.

what i DO know is that nothing ever used to flash on the Internet unless *I* gave it permission to starting with frames on or off in the old Netscape. the Internet was 100 million times better when nothing ever moved on it and I refuse to forfeit that paradise for the sake of conforming to and the eyeball-raping flashing ads that have no infested the Internet like Black Plague-carrying rats.

why are the damn smiley GIFS next to my post window flashing? in my day (the GOOD DAYS) GIFs never flashed. i REALLY hate those flashing smilies on this site and every other site that has them, in addition to anything else that flashes in my browser

i already can stop pop-ups. pop-ups are not my concern.

please give me directions on how become to 100% flash-free. by that i mean, i want a browser that will NEVER FLASH ANYTHING period. can i disable all the stuff that flashes in Mozilla?

the only reason why i haven't taken a measure such as blocking all GIFs is cuz some Forums need them for proper navigation. i need a solution that will disable all flashing things for me and still let me perform normal functions on the net such as posting in forums
