i'll give that technique a try. i was playing around with masks, but that wasnt giving me the effect i wanted, but the layering technique shld do it.
do you know of any tool in p-shop that would give me a brush that when used, would alter the colors beneath the brush by rgb values, raising or lowering by a certain amount? in other words, you could run the brush, in this case over that girl's hair, and it would alter all the pixels by a relative amount. it wouldnt be truly 'painting' or adding color to the existing pixels. it would be raising or lowering the value by an rbb amount or hue or saturation.
in a standard paint brush, you assign it a color value and paint this value over the existing colors and the mix of the two is what you end up with. in the brush i'm looking for, you would simply change the current value by X amount. i know about the replacement tool, but that changes all matching colors to the same one. i want one, that when used, would simply alter any pixel by the brush's set 'raise/lower value by this amount' type of brush.
still not sure i'm asking this correctly... if you had a pixel with a value of 200, 200, 200, and you set up your brush to say, 'raise the 'b' value of rgb by 5' and then painted over the 200, 200, 200, it would then make that pixel 200, 200, 205. and if you painted that same brush over a 180, 197, 5, it would then be 180, 197, 10. and it would do the same thing over any other pixel. does p-shop have such a function/tool?
