In my attempt to steer clear of politics for a while, here's a food pool.
Which is better, a nice suculent burger or a hotdog.
For me it's the good old burger.
With Provolne, Canadian bacon, mustard, ketchup (or catsup),lettuce, on a sourdough bun.

Even though I haven't run across any tree-huggin' vegitarians in here, I had to go with the two minute thing. Other than that, I prefer hot dogs. Real men adore chard flesh.

Hrm, Shades, looks like you've never been to a good ole american diner. Best burgers, worst service possible.

12 oz. Fillet Minion served as Steak Diane. This includes lots of butter, sauteed mushrooms, grilled onions, and lots of other goodies. Medium well of course. Served with a nice hot baked potato and a loaf of warm homemade cracked wheat bread. Now THERE's a meal for real men :)

As long as I grilled them myself I could go for either. I've it's a Baseball stadium hotdog vs. a McBurger I'd go for the hotdog but generally I prefer Burgers as long as they aren't made by fast food burger joints.

It is impossible to get either a tasty hamburger or a hotdog here in little holland. But when I was in Denmark, DAMN these scandinavians know how to make hotdogs. With a delicious sause called marmalade or something and roasted onions. Yummie.

I go for a Käsekrainer or Eitrige as we use to call it. That's a sausage with cheese in it, when grilled the cheese comes out and makes the most tastiest crust. Never mind the carcinogenic substances. Very tasty in a hot dog too.
I'm getting hungry, thank god it's lunch time soon.

No need to spoil a good hot dog by putting frankfurters in it. There are so many delicious sausages out there

Perish the thought of Dutch hotdogs if you think the Danish are good Well, ok, some of them are good enough, but all too often I've chewed on one, slowly do discover that a part of it doesn't seem to be digestable and remains in my mouth despite any amount of chewing, feeling like a piece of cloth which I then have to fish out. Eww.

I want a good old fashioned Icelandic hotdog.

P.s. The sauce is called remoulade.

Hey, SHADES WOLF, where'd you get your first quote? Has someone's post been deleted?

Sorry, ELMARK, don't think that qualifies as a hamburger. Certainly not they way they're made around here. Tenderloin is for sissies. Real men eat hamburger ground from bones, tendons, and fat. Well, there might be some muscle content, but not much. If it's easy to chew and digest, real men give it to children. Point of honor.

I voted hamburger, coz it has MORE cholesterol than hotdogs.

A hot dog, from a greasy burger van, with that really wimpy American burger mustard, is one of my favourite items of food. REAL sausages though-frankfurters suck.

Lord Ovaat is just envious. I still have all my teeth and can eat one of those nice filets He has to eat soft hamburger so his false teeth don't fall out hehe ;)

My favorite hamburgers were from a chain of fast food restaurants called Ollie's Trolley. Unfortunately for the restaurants, the owner demanded that they make all their burgers rare. Even if the customer wanted to have it medium rare or well done, they could only serve it rare, or have their franchise license taken away. Of course, few kids want their burgers rare, and eventually families stopped going and all but one restaurant went out of business. They bought the restaurant from the owner for a very cheap price and then they began making burgers however the customers wanted. Best darn burgers around And they also have spicey fries to kill for Of course, each burger will cost you about 350 calories and your cholesterol will immediately shoot up over 250, but what the heck? hehe

OK, I have a confession to make. I voted for hamburgers in the poll, and wrote my first post thinking of hamburgers, but inexplicably typed in hot dog instead. Oh, well. Do like the doggies, though. Lots of onions and a hot pepper relish. Burgers mostly with lettuce, toms & mayo, but I ain't that picky as long as they're grilled.

AND I DO NOT HAVE FALSE TEETH In fact, when my grandson first heard of the movie, Old Yeller, he thought it was about my remaining front tooth.

Not sure Capo, my conversations normally get around to being about sex. LOL

I like a sunswept, beach wrapped around my hotdogs. That or a really cute blond in a thong bikini. (OOOoooops Just noticed, no pun intended, but now that I see it . . . LOL)

I just saw hamburger on a hotdog roll...another nostalgic trip.

Before reaching legal drinking age, our local nightclub was Wigan Pier. Outside, there was a vendor of dubious hygiene serving 'King Dogs' - this is basically a full french baguette containing 3 burgers, 2 sausages and as much sauce as you could fit on it. Like a game of russian roulette, you knew that you had a 50% chance of going down with some type of food poisoning for the following week if you ate one; but in the early hours and with a skinful, they were just the tastiest thing on earth. No fancy salad or dressing it up to be something it wasnt - it was a MEAT FEAST.

Gotta ask my students if that guy is still there.....
