I borrowed mtw a while ago. When I installed it, it appeared to install alright. However, I found that whenever I tried to start a campaign it would put two red loading bars across the screen instead of one, and not load. After playing CM4, I think it's possible that I just didn't leave it long enough (about 10 minutes). I can't think of any reason my pc couldn't handle it, the drivers are up to date, the specs are fine etc.

I'm thinking of buying the game now, so before I do I'm wondering if anyone knows what the problem might be, and whether it's solvable.

    Hello gt and welcome.

I was able to find other topics on this very problem, but alas, there were no solutions to go with them. Here is one: Help with campaign

Could you please provide your system specs: hardware, software, patch installed, etc. Thanks.

    thnx gregoshi.

I'm not willing to take my pc apart to find out, and I can't find much in the way of documentation, but this is what I know. I'm running windows XP (curse it to hell) on a 1.3GHz processor (pretty sure it's P3), 128Mb RAM, DirectX 8.1 I believe, not sure on graphics card. I'm going to check w/ the manufacturer, so I'll get back to you with more detail

try hitting windows key and R at the same time or use the start menu to bring up run dialog.

    type in dxdiag

    hit enter

browse the various tabs and they should give fairly detailed specs on the machine.

ooh, kewl. You learn something everyday.

It's a celeron processor, it is directX 8.1, VIA AC'97 sound card, and VIA tech VT8361/VT8601 graphics card. It says it's a KLE/PLE chip type. Can't say I fully understand that, it's not 1 I recognise anyway, but nm.

Okay gt, good start. I'm moving this to the Apothecary where the boys in the shop will take a look under the hood. Look for this topic there. You will be able to reply to the topic.
