In the single player campaign has anyone ever seen the formula for the automatic battle resolver? I ask for the purpose of balancing units for AI battles in the general campaign having modded them individually.

Never laugh at the old when they offer counsel,
Often their words are wise:
From shriveled skin, from scraggy things
That hand among the hides
And move amid the guts,
Clear words often come.

Thats a damn good question. I'll tell you one thing, it's almost always a bad idea to Auto Resolve--unless you outnumber 3 to 1 or so--and even then it is better fun to lop off enemy heads yourself.

Although the resolver is handy for those tedious castle battles, it doesn't seem to give the defender a bonus.

Testing thus far with the stat swapper seems to indicate that the stats have a small impact on the amount of casualties suffered in auto resolve.

At the beginning of a full campain auto-resolve tends to loose around a third of your army. The real player meanwhile would loose a handfull of men.
