Thread: My graphics sucks!

I haven't played Medieval for ages, but this morning I finally reinstalled this great game. Everything is as I remember it... except for the units. They look absolutely terrible when I zoom too close. All blurred and out of focus. This is defiantly not something I have experienced before.

Well, I have bought a new graphics card since I last played, but my new Radeon 9600 XT card should be able to show better graphic than my old GeForce TI 4200. What the hell is wrong?

I'm running the game with the latest patch (1,1), and I don't have Vikings installed.

    Thanks in advance

Maybe you can change the resolution

Right now I am using a 1280 x 1024 resolution, so that is not the problem.

When played in a 1024 x 800 resolution with my GeForce card the graphics were sharp, but now the colours are constantly in movement on the units.

BTW, how do you edit your previous posts?

Only senior patrons and above can edit their posts.

Oh and the links for the screenshots don't seem to work.

Try increasing the amount of memory MTW can use in the AGP option, you can find that in the in-game options somewhere. More memory means more detailed soldier sprites, but it also uses more resources and will eventually decrease performance. You will have to find a balance between the two.
Frogbeastegg's Guide to Total War: Shogun II. Please note that the guide is not up-to-date for the latest patch.

Where exactly can this AGP be found? I checked the Option menu in-game, but couldn't find anything. Could this AGP have been added with the expansion pack?

It's under options>performance for me. I do have VI though.

    Hi Spif.

Post back if the AGP memory setting fixed your problem. If it didn't, then I'll move this topic to the Apothecary where our top mechanics will fix all your woes. And there are free donuts in the waiting room too

Ambient Fauna, Smoke and Unit Size is the only things I can adjust. Guess I will have to buy VI then.

Gregoshi, you can move this topic now.

Thanks for all the help everybody
