Why don't you go play MTW? I'd post, but I'd rather play.

I wish I could but a virus wiped my computer immobalising it so far the experts don't think they can fix it. So i'm stuck with my old win 95 system.

    Do you have a AntiVirus/Firewall?

Why not just reformat and reinstall windows? I just got finished doing that yesterday.

just reinstall, it's not much of a hassle.

BTW, the idea is to keep posting frequently.

for example, I've maintained a fairly high post count since I joined. almost hitting 13 a day now.

    BTW, I don't have a life

I cant do anything with it, before I get to a stage in booting up the computer where I can change anything it crashes meaning that i can do nothing it's really evil. Yes I did have Firewall but some how it bypassed it.

Oh well at least I got this bucket of rust to go on the internet.

Almost 13 a day? .... that's not in the I don't have a life category... more like Dedicated Forumer .... seems like some of us newer members are attempting the Early Fanatic Forumer shtick.

Hey zelda12 - can you get into the Bios? because Im sure you can - and just change to boot from the CD - put teh Windows XP CD in there (or whatever OS you plan on using) and then reintall/reformat. Make sure when you redo everything that you don't connect to the internet till you ahve the Firewall/Antivirus installed.

WHat kind of protection do you have? Norton?

    Yes I did have norton.

And no all I get when I start her up is two words and then the screen goes blue and the message a fatal error has occured. So that I cannot do anything what soever.

DO you know how to get into your BIOS to change teh boot sequence? That fatal error probably comes up before Windows comes up - if you press DEL a couple times right when teh computer starts (the words start coming on the screen) then the BIOS screen will come up and you can go in and change teh Boot Sequence, effectively bypassing anything that's wrong with Windows and being able to reinstall it.

If you can't get into the bios then it's more likely to be a hardware problem than any mere virus.

Which key opens the bios varies with computer. Delete, F1 and F2 are all popular ones though.

yep, if you can't get into BIOS, it's likely BIOS corruption or other hardware issue rather than virus although I know of a few BIOS/ROM viruses.

@Gawain, holy cow that you can maintain that kind of post average for so long nice to see you are form NY too.

maybe NY people have serious problems and need the forums to resolve them.

@zelda, don't try to set post records. try to have meaningful discussions.

I rarely post one liners to up my post count. I usually discuss strategy with other people here.

if you want to go for some post record by spamming, I heartily recommend the tavern where one word story etc. gives ample spamming opportunities.

I feel so contained to the few forums that we can discuss things in. TOmorrow I start a new campaign. What do you say? Spanish? Or Byzantines?

    I'd choose the byzanites.

Because they get progressively harder to play as your units get outclassed by the opposition. But it's still possible to win although you will have to rely increasingly on mercenarys. A good point is that constantinople comes pretty advanced meaning you can make good units early on.

Tip if do you play the byzanites build up a very strong fleet the reason being that there are various choke points that can cut of all your trade.

i don't really know much about the spaniards as I never really played them that much.

Byzantines. Your MTW experience is nothing yet until you've conquered the world as the Greeks Learn to beat ottoman infantry, mamluk cavalry, almohad militia, Spanish Jinets, feudal knights, Mongol Heavy cavalry, Szekely, Swabian Swordsmen, and all other early/high era units with your multiple jedi katanks. Beat everything else with your gold armor Varangian Guards.

I'd choose the spanish. They,ve got a difficult starting position but if you mange to survive you can later get great units like lancers and beat the crap out of the almohads

The Byzantines have sometimes been called the Empire of the Greeks.

When you get promoted to full member, by proving to the moderators that you are worthy of the honour, you get to post in the Tavern, where you can discuss important political and social issues with the sort of people who get REALLY worked up on how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. The moderators have got their hands full trying to prevent us from killing each other

Having so many personalities means that you are bound to have a massive row with yourself, and ratchet up that post number.

I should warn you that the ban on flaming almost certainaly extends to multiple personalities flaming each other...
