If you're into Japanese history or just the Samurai thing, there's a new, very interesting, documentary airing on PBS tommorrow:

Japan: Memoirs of a Secret Empire

Below is actually the home page for the site, lots of additional background info, much like that found on the original Shogun CD.

In the NYC area, it airs at 8:00 pm Channel 13.

    Setup your DVR/VCRs.

There's also a second airing, check the schedule.

tomorrow being what day of the week? Wednesday?

I'll be in Japanese writing class at 8 (for fun, I'm not in college) but will have a friend get it for me.

I thought I saw something interesting on PBS but the fact that it was PBS made me doubt it was good. I'll check it out tomorrow, thank's for the heads up.

Four stage strategy from Yes, Minister:
Stage one we say nothing is going to happen.
Stage two, we say something may be about to happen, but we should do nothing about it.
Stage three, we say that maybe we should do something about it, but there's nothing we can do.
Stage four, we say maybe there was something we could have done, but it's too late now.

I caught about half of it.
It was okay, interesting, but anyone who's studied Japanese history, even casually like for STW, won't get much new info.

I agree, there was some neat stuff that I never knew, like the Dutch Village in Nagasaki Harbor, but overall I thought it was pretty basic.

    Still, I really enjoyed it.
