I don't generally follow the hype before games come out but the couple of previews of RTW that I've read havn't mentioned either of these things so I thought I'd ask and see whether anyone else has read anything about them?

    1. Will RTW support GA mode?

    2. Will RTW have influence and if so will it work the same way as MTWs influence?

I find it really annoying that MTW calculates influence based on what you've done. I may have Fortresses in every province and several stacks of the best units money can buy but because I havn't attacked anyone I don't deserve respect?

I am not sure about that, but I saw a screenshot of RTW and even governors had an influence stat. Probably, the governors' influence will depend on their succesful administrative skills.
When the game ends, peon and king go into the same box.

It kind of makes sense influence is based on action. A king with a record of toppling nations carries more weight than someone who's just sat in his castle growing fat. Of course size of army/wealth should be a factor, but actions should be the big one.

And I hope they add GA mode again, with ability to mod events.

Well, if you're a trading powerhouse and the economies of other nations are greatly affected by you, you're influence should be large.

Supposedly RTW will have a much deeper diplomatic game, meaning influence will play a very large part.

    true.

if there's a GA, then subduing carthage for romans should be like subduing scots for the brits.

Romans should also get quite some conquest GAs.

any chance of negative conquest points after a while?

It's just not in the spirit of the GA game to conquer the whole map TD style.

I hear the Sentate's missions are sort of the game's GA style and some of the duties vary from conquering a city, to putting down a rebellion.

    what about non Roman factions?

do they also get some sort of advisory body telling them what to do and give them money or points for completing tasks?

Well the English could get points for every roman invasion they resist.
