Assuming you're playing Conquest - what do you do? I am the Byzantines right now and just conquered 60% of the map. No other faction poses a threat and it's the late 1170's, have a ship in every coastal region so I can invade anywhere.... but there's little to no real strength left on the map. I'd say that's pretty good for only my second campaign.

Most likely there's no resistance left after you've conquered 60% and all you can do is to take the remaining provinces and fight rebels, which is

It depends - if I am bored with the faction and nobody is even close in power, I generally pack it in and stop playing. Why keep playing when you've got 60% and you are cranking out Gold Armored Chivalric Knights, Sergeants & Men At Arms with Pavise Arbalesters while your top opponent has spearmen, urban militia, vanilla archers and hobilars?

Don't stop till they're all dead I'm probably just too much of a perfectionist to let them get away with their lives.

I usually lose my interest in a campaign when you're so big that all factions hate you. I especially hate the moment when the "you're too big so eat this" supermega-mass rebellions burst out.
But before you get to 60% the game's still fun (and challenging)

Yeah true - I just finished mopping up the Spanish and Italians and there's really no resistance. I invade 5 provinces a turn and win every battle. The only thing I'm worried about is rebellions now. I'll stop playing this campaign I think. I'll try English again because I messed up the last one I tried.

I've only finished 1 campaign ever and it was a 60% victory. I'm currently trying to finish them all off as I've already past that point on another one, but I'm rapidly losing interest.

I agree completely - at that point it becomes extremely boring and frustrating to finish - I've only finished a campaing completely once, and that was just to see if there was a different ending.
Nope - no sig what so ever.

Saw this thread a couple of times now. Anyway, I usually play GA, as the AI seems more rounded for battle. And I stop before I reach 60% in any case. Too dull when you have 40% already.

I have played until the end just once: I had the 40% of the map (playing with dannish) and the spanish had the 60%. So, it was great to beat them.
Usually I leave after getting the 50% of the map.

I usually stop playing at 60% or there abouts. I dont enjoy having to control huge armies across the entire map. I prefer it at the start with small scale battles and less build to win tactics.

I have no concrete stopping point - I simply stop playing a campaign when I'm bored of it. This sometimes happens at some point after the 60% mark; sometimes before. I don't choose to end the campaign at the 60% mark (what would be the point of that?), but I usually don't play to the end either. This game has no reward at the end worth achieving, so I just play till it's not very enjoyable anymore.

The game does get tedious when everyone turns against you because you're so powerful. The mass rebellions are also quite irritating and tedious to put down. These things do cause me to get bored with a campaign, at which point I often simply stop playing it and start a new one.

Save a little before we're close to gettin' 60 percent and take the minor victory. Then load the file and play till the end (so Im assured tha I got some sort of victory).

I usually don't even make it to 60% without getting bored.

This is one reason why I like Shogun and VI more than MTW. Because the map is smaller than MTW so the campaigns are not super long like MTW so I don't get bored with them as much.

Shogun stays challenging if you start in the south and work your way north. Those provinces like Musashi, and Shimosa return enough revenue that strong armies can still be raised there.

I always play til the end. What I do after I am the only superpower left is create a super hitech unit and just experiment with it.

Say a gold/gold Lancer and send that unit alone to fight the rebels and see how many losses will it take, and how many will it kill and so on. Or a super upgraded harquebusier +SAP (2 units in total) and see how many are killed in one volley.

Just mess around with that, creating a super elite army and blitzing thru the rebels.

    Enjoying myself, in short.

I usally only 60%. like many other, depands one what the world is like. Like right now, in the one i am playing right now, the spainish and me ( the danes ) are in great power, I'm pumping out, silver armored everything.. guns.. and cannons..... and im still not the strongist ones in europe. I do figure the spainish are. The pope is another problem. having all of italy and what was germany. the germans have moved into what was france. and the french are in ireland. the turkish as far as i can tell arnt a great threat. so in the year of 1298. I still got a handfull :)

I haven't won unless I conquer 100%. Fortunately, I enjoy the whole process right to ending the last siege.

As in all the many previous threads on this same subject I have to brag. So far I've achieved 100% victory with the following factions.
    - Danes
    - Byzantines
    - Vikings
    - Egyptians
    - HRE
    - Irish
    - Almohads

As for the mass rebellions in the end I haven't had any since I learned from experience in my first campaign. Just keep a garrison of 3-400 peasants in every province except Portugal, Livonia and Scotland where you put 900 in each to be on the very safe side. Build border forts everywhere, as well as churches (and monasteries if you have castles) and any militia buildings available at the province's tech level. Finally, take the last 40% of the map as swiftly as possible.
