    Howdy,

I just got around to buying Viking Invasion (this afternoon) so I guess I can try some of the fancy mods you guys have made.

Can you tell me which ones are the must-haves, perhaps with a brief description of what it is and how it will change the game.

    Thanks

    There aren't really any must-haves.

The major mods come in two catagories, those that stick to the medieval setting and those that don't.

Kekvit mod, Medmod and BKB's super mod are all large medieval mods.

Napoleonic:Total War and Hellenic:Total war are the most well known mods that change the era completely.

Personally I like Kekvit and BKB's super mod.

    Thanks.

The Napolean mod sounds very interesting. What about the kekvit mod, I've heard about but have no idea what it does.

What about the BKB and the Medmod^ What changes do they make?

kekvit: new units and also some new factions
BKB: a lot of new factions (20?), with their own new units
MedMod: a lot of new units, unique units for all factions, homelands (your best troops can only be trained in your homelands), better AI

Get the shogun mod and the hellenic both class pieces of work. Also, the napoleonic mod is a good mod and i love the battles of the middle earth mod.

Download any of these and your sure to be on to a winner and the fall of rome mod is also class. Check the patrician mod for the original medieval. That mod is very enjoyable

Me likes Medmod a lot, you get to fight with an AI that actually doesn't behave like a cretin (read me)

You can read about most mods at the Engineers Guild :
    http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin....SF;f=27

The good thing is that you can write to those who made the mods and get usefull info.

MTW XL version 3.0 out now! Get it here:

If you are interested in multi player, check out the Community Mod.

It is designed for better balance and to make the Rock Paper Scissor principle really work (i.e. Spear units are strengthened and more cost effective and now really worth buying).

If anyone has the time, I have three questions.

I'm interested in checking out the two LotR mods, I think they're called Middle Earth: Total War (ME-TW) and Silmarillion: Total War (S-TW).

How far along are each in development?

What are their file names, because I can't find them on the Stats and Mods page.

Do either have websites like Wes does?
