Is there a way, either in Custom battle or Campaign, to mix units from different factions into one army? Or, in Custom Battle, to mix original M:TW untis with or against VI units?
Thanks.

some VI units do appear in the MTW campaign, in the Danes faction, for example. But otherwise....
If you get the gnome editor, you can mod the game files if you want to change unit availability in campaign. It looks like if you mod just column 71 (in gnome) you can mod which units are available in custom games, but not sure how modding that column might affect a standard campaign. Don't forget to backup the files first![]()

Thanks. I'd like to try out a few things, like English Longbows, Swiss Armoured Pikemen, and Mongol Heavy Cavalry against a vastly superior French Force.

Bribing armies or sucking them up with crusades in the campaign will means that you can get troops you don't normally have.
"What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?"
assasinate the king/heirs to eliminate them and bribing is a good way to get good units for cheap.
so is using crusades or jihads to sponge up troops.
too bad that the unique troops wouldn't be much use if you only end up with 1 man szekely units etc like I always do.
I can rarely get more than single digits in a single unit in a crusade once it's over.
combining would partially alleviate the problem though.
modding them in would be unbalancing and you might also forget to change it.
