Kill 1000+ prisoners in one battle
I pledge allegiance to the underworld One nation under dog,There of which I stand alone,A face in the crowdUnsung, against the mold
    Without a doubt
    Singled out
    The only way I know

Stepped out of the line,Like a sheep runs from the herd
Marching out of time,To my own beat now
    The only way I know

One light, one mind,Flashing in the dark
Blinded by the silence of a thousand broken hearts

"For crying out loud" she screamed unto me
A free for all,Screw 'em all
    You are your own sight

I want to be the minority,I don't need your authority
Down with the moral majority,I want to be the minority

there is also a vice for killing 2K.

Don't remember what is was exactly. But I credit the resulting dread with saving many lives in repressed rebellions.

How come did you get swift justice, scant mercy and butcher all at the same time? I thought they are in the same group or at the least, 2 of them are in the same group of V&Vs.

hmm, the swift justice thing can easily go to ruler, as is normal, all i know for sure is that i have received scant mercy and butcher in same battle same general...
all i did was execute first half dozen prisoners, then wait until the tally was over 1000 and pressed that squishy button again...and voila, u get both in one battle, only hard part is attacking the right place with right circumstances, not to mention, the right #s

    pillage, plunder, burn...

I got swift justice from executing all rebels when you have that option to execute all, execute ringleaders, or release all. I didnt even know why that window was there, so I decided to kill em all

I also didnt realize I had to let the counter go to 1000 and click it to get butcher, I usually just clicked it while the action is dieing down...guess I should stop executing a few dozen at a time.

How do you kill prisoners during a battle? I think I remember reading this somewhere but, I don't recall where.

Just what I need to do to my governors in conquered provinces. A little bit of dread is all it should take to keep the peasants in line. They will soon realize that my king is better than their old one, even if it kills them... Thanks again for the help

I love the kill all prisoners button

I like to use it as an order confirmation button.

I check to see all of my units are doing what I want and assign orders if necessary and then hit that kill all prisoners button as if to confirm the orders and I then repeat.

unfortunately, I started getting morale penalties so I stopped and now only kill prisoners when I wanted some units dead badly or have at least 1 k to get the butcher vice which is pretty sweet.

screw the morale penalty I NEVER take prisoners, I dont want to have to fight the same unit again 2 years later.

I agree with Ragss. Kill them while you have them so you do not have to face them again.

I only do this for strong units like varangians.

pathetic militia and spears actually don't hurt much as they get routed again and again.

I need money to fund the war effort and more troops.

If you let those UM units get ransomed, pretty soon you are facing "Captured" "Tortured" "Natural Leaders" that mean it when they say: Never surrender

umm, I doubt those UMs are gonna be commanding.

usually, I let the general get good runner and I ransom the routers I catch.

the rout equally fast the next time around for more cash.

I've yet to see any 0* UMs I ransomed back become a general facing me.

Arghhhhhh, earlier today I got about 1800-1900 captured (and slaughtered). If only my horses werent so tired I could of got 2000 and found out for sure. It was a crazy game though, one of my saharan cavalry units had captured over 600 men. I tell you those units are ideal for running people down

As for killing or ransoming... usually I random, but sometimes you just have to go for the kill. Especially if you have 1000+ people. Just dont slaughter too often with a general, or else the negative morale can make an otherwise good general a liability.

Raggs, IMO that is a bad mistake, it could lead to losing a close battle later through a rout.

    that's quite true.

having a -3 morale is really bad.

that's enough to nullify a cathedral upgrade.

in a game so focused on morale, this is very bad.
