    To the modding community

As far as I've understood all the mods basically have one thing in common: Whether you play a custom battle or do battle within a campaign they all have the player and the enemy set up facing each other untill the word GO ....and slaughter starts.
Wouldn't it be a grand Idea if you could march your troops in a long column across the landscape NOT KNOWING where and when the enemy would appear ? It would drastically increase the suspense, because you DO know that the enemy will show but you just don't know when and where. It could be just past THAT hill or on they could be waiting for you in the forest ahead.
I have, as a test, made a number of maps where I can simulate that experience. My troops (defenders)have all the time to 'march around' before the attacking force appears as they have to cross a bridge and some steep hills on the other side of the map first. Although in this case I always roughly know where they are coming from it leaves me enough time to enjoy the sound of jingling armour, the commands, the music...and the suspense.
For an experienced lot like you guys it could be a challenge to get this particular 'randomness' into your mods and on the battle field.
    What do you think ?

Can you post an example map here or post some pics of such maps?

Dirk, another idea which can be achieved when playing Historic battles, is when units appear.

You can make units appear through-out the battle, so for example you could have the Battle of Agincourt and start it only with the first French battle,

and after a period of time, the seconfd and then the third battle would arrive and join in the attack....
