you're welcome, Dessa
And they can only be built i early - so hurry.
Nope - no sig what so ever.
You have to have the VI expansion
Moldavia, Horsebreeder, Armourer
1 take/buy Moldavia
2 build 20% farms, fort, horse farms, horse breeder, town watch, keep, spear, armourer, then build up the breeders guild and master breeder, then upgrade the keep and armourer. You can end early with silver armoured Avar nobles. (I haven't ever gotten to gold armour on them)

It is not complete until the overwieght female vocalizes.

well, you don't have to rush so much just for avar nobles![]()
Well, that depends on how much you want to conquer with them.Originally Posted by [b

I love Avar Nobles, I try to get them in Early if I'm in the neighborhood, so to speak.
they really do kick arse, not as badly as katas but they do a sure good job.
thanks, dessa

they kill equal valor katanks actually.
I will go for them even if I'm not in the neighborhood.
bribing or fighting way into Southern Steppes including moldavia and scandanavia is always a good idea.
steppe heavies, avar nobles, and huscarles make for a very nice army esp when bulked up by the affordable and reliable slav warriors and slav javs.
avars and khazars are always a priority for a eastern europe player.

you mean khazar royal cav? they aren't buildable and are worse than avar nobles as well as high support of 105 compared to 60
yeah but you only get two of them.
and then they really are all over quick.
i just like them because of their high morale.
thanks, desmond

so - Khazar royal cavalry - are the only two units the ones in Khazar at the start of the game (eg: you have to bribe them to get them), or are they available as mercenaries if you own this province?
I like the look of them becuase of the cool unit piccie.
KyodaiSpan, KyodaiSteeleye, PFJ_Span, Bohemund. Learn to recognise psychopaths
have to bribe. never seen one as mercs.
avar nobles are better in every way.
so they put a whole new unit type into VI for 2 poxy units on the ground?

yeah, more or less.
I modded them to be buildable but usually end up owning moldavia and pumpng avars instead.
Khazar royal cav do get built by rebels if they own the provinxce for a while, but even so they have to be bribed and the only time I;ve seen them as mercs is when I disbanded them myself.
I was trying to find some help in the ancient military journals of General Tacticus, who's intelligent campaigning had been so successful that he'd lent his very name to the detailed prosecution of martial endeavour, and had actually found a section headed "What To Do If One Army Occupies A Well-Fortified And Superior Ground And The Other Does Not", but since the first sentence read "Endeavour to be the one inside" I'd rather lost heart.
yeah. i don't think they are regularly generated in the merc pool
they aren't nearly as good as avars, their close cousins.
also, steppe heavies have missile attack and are comparable in melee.
