archers.. new to the game

i am new to shogun and like it very much,

how do i make my archers fight with swrods, hand to hand, instead of firing arows.

i know stupid question but pls give stright fordawrd answer

Click on archer unit, hold alt, then click on enemy... or is it ctrl.?? hhmm... *flips through tactical manual*

You can make your archers (or any other missile unit, for that matter) fight hand to hand by pressing ALT + Left click on the enemies you want them to attack with their swords.

They don't have to be out of arrows for you to do this.

Also note that if you order your archers to attack another unit normally (with their arrows), and they RUN OUT of arrows, they won't AUTOMATICALLY convert to sword attack.

They'll just stand there getting slaughtered until you instruct them specifically what to do.
