20 more days till Doom 3 hits the shelves, I can't wait to see this new engine in motion. Perhaps it even is a decent game Bring it on

Is that US or Europe Release? i've been waiting for this game for a year, mainly just to stress test my graphics card for future games
Also for Nostalga purposes, on of the first PC games i played was doom when my dad broght a laptop with it on home from work ohh so many years ago.........

If u want to stress test any graphics card on earth try farcry on fulldetail with aa and af and watch your card quiver :)
i very rarely will pay full Retail price for a game that has crappy multiplayer, as Doom 3 will; only 5 maps
i'll probably wait a year or two til this game is in the bargain bin, then buy it. no sense paying a ton of money for a game that i will beat in a day or two if that game doesn't even have fleshed-out multiplayer to hold my interest
plus, it's BLASPHEMY that XBox Live players can play Doom 3 in Co-op mode yet PC gamers get NO CO-OP. that is some of the biggest BS i've ever heard about in the history of the gaming industry
PS: i don't wanna hear crap like Oooh but PC version might get a Co-op mod - that's nothing but speculation and most likely, wishful thinking that will never become reality, or even if it does, that mode will run so laggily that it won't be worth playing

I managed to get a review of Doom3 in PC Gamer magazine(world exclusive first review that is)i won't spoil alot, but it was a pretty interesting read, suffice to say,i saw a new weapon, and some pretty freaky monsters that got my attention back for Doom 3....
Hopefully its a worldwide release, since the single player portion ios the best and boasts 20+ hours of gameplay(pretty long imho, compared to most FPS that take 5 hours to complete).pity multiplayer...although i'm sure its possible for a coop, since the games Code on both PC and Xbox should be pretty similiar....
I wouldn't be to concerned about the x-box getting co-op and the pc don't, that is just the out of the box product. ID makes higly configurable engines and the community will hack it in in no time. In the end the pc-gamer will have tons and tons of cool mods, just like morrowind for example. Only 5 maps for multiplay, no problem, there will be 5 times as many before the end of the month. I am more worried about the actual game being good

I think you'll find
Doom III far more graphical stressing than
FarCry. At least at maximum settings...
It seems that there are some reviews already. Check this out:
DOOM III Review
Enjoy...
BTW, for an awesome FPS SP experience, I believe there are three games very closely matched this year:
DOOM III,
Half-Life 2 and
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. looks fantastic. I can't wait. Well, I can until I get my Alienware. Then I can't.

An Alienware? Nice, really nice PC, RisingSun

Thanks. And it sure as hell better be for how long I've been saving up for it.

Yeap. They aren't in no way a very acessible product...
im actually waiting for them to release a movie based on the first of the books, that IMO will be more exciting than doom3
Leet Eriksson 01:10 07-23-2004
alleluia it sounds freat i'm buying it
Hopefully i'll get it i'm 13 and don't quite look 15 but hey i'm usually lucky with these things
Most certainly will buy it. The PC gamer review made it sound pretty decent. Even if it's a shelf puppy after one play, it's still less than the price of a rental flick per hour of play. And interactiove is better than just sponge feeding off the tube.
And I just put a 9800 Pro in my machine a month ago, can't wait to see if it does it justice.

Meh, I'm 14 and 11 months so I shouldn't have too many problems getting it.
i doubt you would have probs getting it if you were 10
If what i`m thinking comes to pass......there will be a level editor ( I can hope), anyway I know the community will mod this thing for years. I`m already collecting textures and have a band lined up.... Tapping The Vein. If it all works out will have an animation out next year with TTV and Doom. It`s all written and ready to rock. Doom3 and RTW will pretty much take my free time. Bought the new HP in time for both. 3Ghz....1Gig ram....Radeon 9800 card and Hook it up to surround sound. AQnyone tell me how it might look hooked to a 27 TV?
Thx,
Dimeolas
