Ok, odd topic I know but there's something that's been bugging me for some time now - the pronouciation of certain units

    Ok these are both Byzantine:

Kataphraktoi: (Last bit is bothering me) Is it like 'Cata - phrac - toy' ?

Pronoiai Allagion: (this is an ugly one) 'Pron - oi - aye' (aye as in aye Captain) 'Alla - jee - ion'

So tell me if you agree

welcome to the org. Marvin ...U know I'm the same, I have absolutely no idea how they are pronounced....
There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

Ah, yes, I haven't read the book, but in a round about way your correct. It's also the name of a Radiohead song, which is in turn named after the character from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. I should have figured out what you meant

Ah, that makes sense, it was the 'o' at the end which kept throwing me

    Ok thanks, sounds about right.

You see my friends are also avid M:TW players and it gets frustrating when we're all pronouncing the names of the units differently. So I thought we could do with some second opinions.

    kats or katanks are acceptable.

ichi refers to PAs as porno cav.

all these have little variations in pronunciation.
