so far all atempts to reach the site
    http://www.totalwar.com/game/
using IE6 have failed for me,

have tried multiple PC configs, multiple time slots and even different isp's

    no go zone

Mozilla, Netsacpe and Firefox all work just dandy,
loads in seconds, all areas reachable in seconds,
but IE6 - nope - the roman faction vids do not autoplay as they should, click on any link (except the register at activision link) and site freezes for IE6.

so if you can reach the site which verion of which browser and which version of flash?

It works for me. My exact I.E. version is 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633 according to the Info menu in I.E.

Shockwave is version 10 if I'm correct (Shockwave is a part of Flash right or the clientpart?). Don't know what version Flash is, couldn't find it. Maybe you know where I can look it up?

    Edit: Flash Player 7.

    found the problem

i went to the site the day it was opened,
suspect some things have been tweaked since then,

after trying a dozen different options and plug-ins i flushed IE6 cache
(which is a bother, means all files i had stashed i have to redownload - bandwidth - my isp is a bandwidth nazi,)

    works now

suspect the copy in my cache was not 100% functional.
