Search function problem

For some reason, the search button no longer works for me and I get this:

Okay, what am I doing wrong? It worked before. Or is Search disabled? I am logged in....

The search function has been disabled (temporarily I think.)

Terry, apparently the search function was causing the meassgebaord to crash, so it has been temporarily disbled for everyone. It's not your fault (Maybe Barocca should put an announcement on the front page. When you get the message YOU are not allowed to use this function, you tend to take it personally. Maybe he has)

Whew.. thanks. I did tend to take it personally.. I tried to find an annoucement about it and used the search to see if there was discussion about it, but it didn't work.

The watchtower is used for such announcements. It's a bit buried under the board is down stuff.

The thing this board lacks compared to other forumsoftware is a floodcontrol for search. When there are more hits than the server can deal with, you just put a limiter on it. The limiter is now just turning it off completely :(
