I keep getting the message 'Invalid CD key' when I try to log on for multiplayer(this is for STW). I've checked that I'm entering the right code from the box, so it must be something else but I cant work out what??
Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you get round it? thanks
Not sure about this but I'd say that the key has been banned. It's possible that someone else has been using it. Wait for somone more familiar with the multiplayer game to reply though.

I get the same problem on my laptop, but not my desktop (which I used the key on first).
Did you buy the game firsthand? If you've bought/borrowed/stolen the game from someone else then its possible that their CD Key could have been banned and so yours (being the same) will be too.
The best way to resolve this is to contact CA.

Never played multiplay for Shogun but I remember having a hard time with MTW cd-key. MTW is caps sensitive I believe and try with and without dashes also look at letters that look like letters carefully because I kept typing in the letter o instead of zero and if I'm right any letter that looks like and should be a zero because there are no o letters just zero's in the CD key.
I think thats right but if zero's do'nt work then its the letter o that is used but I think you should get the concept of the idea

Caps-lock on, include the dashes and all 0 are zeroes works for me. However, some of the WE/MI games shipped with invalid cd-keys. You'd have to contact Electronic Arts customer support to get that straightened out if that's the problem. Keep in mind that the online server for original STW has been permanently shut down.

Is this the first time youve tried MTW online? if not, are you using a different CD, or a different CD KEY than you were before with that gamespy account? When I got a new copy of MTW (mine got pinched) I had to create a new gamespy account to play online aswell, the old CD KEY (the manual was pinched aswell0 was still registered, but seen as I didn;t have it any more it wouldn;t let me enter a new one either, so I had to create a new gamespy account.
I was trying to find some help in the ancient military journals of General Tacticus, who's intelligent campaigning had been so successful that he'd lent his very name to the detailed prosecution of martial endeavour, and had actually found a section headed "What To Do If One Army Occupies A Well-Fortified And Superior Ground And The Other Does Not", but since the first sentence read "Endeavour to be the one inside" I'd rather lost heart.
