For those who don't know what a succession game is, here is a short description. PLayers playing the SG get in a rotation and the game is handed down as kings die. The current player is the current king, so when he dies, the next player gets the savegame and goes. Also, the current player, once he/she is done, writes a description of their rein and offers some advice for thier heir.

Is there any way to post files or pics on these forums? If not, then we will have to send save-games via e-mail.

If you are interested, just post with the words JOIN MTW SUCCESSION GAME at the top.

Visit the Story/PBM forum. PBM = Play by Mail is basically the thing you are talking about.

Actually, you are king, so you do whatever you want to. When you die, its the next guys turn. Just post up a summary of what happened during your reign.

Here is a basic summary of what happend to me.

First 5 Years - Built a couple Inns. Bought off territories in Valencia and Navarre. Planned to attack Cordoba.

Attack on Cordoba - My force, led by El Cid, took Cordoba with no resistance. I stopped the advance because Cordoba was the key to the rest of Iberia and I didn't have the forces to take Grenada and Morocco.

I consolidated for a couple years while Castille built its first Crusade. During that time I also attacked and conquered Aragon. After that I slowly reinforced Aragon and Navarre. I also aquired Portugal through bribery.

My first crusade easily took Morocco. At the same I attacked Grenada with a conventional army. The loss of a Almohad prince at Grenada and two critical territories led to an Almohad civil war. I still used my crusade to conquer Algeria. The forces from the previous conflicts joined each new crusade. I finally went all the way to Cyrenia, where I managed to kill all 180 Knights of Santiago I had been collecting. But I did end up with 300 Order Foot Soldiers and a good general.

In Cyrenia I have a medium sized army with teh Order Soldiers parked to discourage Egyptian aggression. In the European front I have continued to reinforce.

On buildings, I have started construction on a castle in Castille so I can soon get Inquisitors. In Valencia and Leon I have just started building my first naval units. Navarre and Aragon I started to build buildings to make good defenders. The African states are mostly undeveloped.

Right now the majority of my armies are Jinettes, with some troops gained by bribes.

The French have mostly crushed England on the Continent, but are currently at war with our allies, the Germans. Egypt is probably busy with the Turks. Leave the Egyptians for later. Build up the navy and prepare for a possible penetration into France, whenever they seem weak in their back door. Another invasion angle to consider is the Italian Peninsula via the mediterranean. Also, try to defend the African coasts, as you have some rich territory there.

Do you want me to put up a post in the PBM forum about this comapign? Junior members can reply to topics in there so anyone who wants to can join, and then just put a link to the thrad in this topic.

I was considering starting a spanish PBM campaign myself but joining one is just as good.

I am definately interested, I suggest you list all people who have definately signed up so you don;t have to trwl through posts to find who's next.

Also are there any rules you want to put down like try not to get excummunicated, don;t expand reclessly, stuff like that?
I was trying to find some help in the ancient military journals of General Tacticus, who's intelligent campaigning had been so successful that he'd lent his very name to the detailed prosecution of martial endeavour, and had actually found a section headed "What To Do If One Army Occupies A Well-Fortified And Superior Ground And The Other Does Not", but since the first sentence read "Endeavour to be the one inside" I'd rather lost heart.

Yeah, it would be good to put a link to this thread in that one, or vice versa. I am assuming you want to join this SG, so here is the current rotation:

    sir_schwick
    Spartiate(current player)
    Sociopsychoactive

We'll have to see what good old Spartiate will do with Alfonzo's kingdom. I say we let the current player do whatever they want. That way we can all bad-mouth the sucky kings.
