Hey HicRic do you have onboard sound? or an actual soundcard? because that could be a reason that the sounds were taking up so much processing power.

I had the same problem on a pretty nice configured computer. STW worked fine, MTW was a disaster. Tryed everything, it finally worked out with a sound card, after disabling the onboard sound... (Sorry I know this should be in the tech forum, but I remembered all the frustration while trying : and the joy when I solved the problem )

It's really odd that I too can run STW fine with sound. I kind of miss it in MTW now, actually, but I can't stand the laggy battles after having played nice, smooth ones.

Frankymole, you might be right. I saw people from clans there and they were playing, but maybe they weren't clan matches. Do those days tend to bring out the nutcases?

(I haven't been playing MP for a couple of weeks now, actually...not so much time to play anymore, and I'm doing an SP Turk game)

well, if you're turning off the music as a catholic faction, then i can't say you're missing that much - the ewok music really did my head in after a bit, so now i play with the wind whistling, and my troops marching - much more atmospheric....

I have to do both to get the performance increase-mute all MTW sounds. So I don't even get the wind whistling or troops marching-just eerie, total silence.

    Cool Re: A pleasant surprise!

Hi HicRic, Cao X 2, & Sociopschoactive (Like the name),
    Hey players,...

Lord DeVeau here, and Glad to hear a positive comment regarding the multiplayer game I have yet to try it, though... Sorry Cao Cao had 90% bad time but a few ppeople may dampen anyones day.

A few questions 1. How long does a game take, can you save it or does it run on all the time. And
What is Sp & MP, I don't get the terminology?

    Thanks,
    Lord DeVeau

    Battle on,
    Carry on!

Hello again HicRic & I should have said the Sword of Cao Cao (sorry),

I had started MTW and I downloaded VI and I couldn't play the three (3) games I had started. They would freeze up adn I purchased the VI pack but have not instaled it yet because I don't want to mess anything else up.

I will evntually get to install it and play the online games and hopefully have good experinces doing it.

    Later,
