"We can promotion a Junior Patron based on one well constructed, informative post or, more typically, at least four multi-sentence posts. Although not guaranteed, most promotions are made within a day of your participation in threads at the Entrance Hall. Unacceptable behaviour will, at best, delay a promotion."
This seems as if fallacy, since most of the junior patrons seem to be nice and rule abiding folk, and a huge number of them have several very good posts, however, many of them have been junior patron ranked for several months in many cases. Now, that introduction, if it was to be taken word by word, it would mean that most of the junior patrons here haven't lived up to the rules and thus their promotions have been postponed.
Now, I'm not saying that it's entirely wrong, I'm saying that it allows misinterpretion, since I felt felt at first I had done something wrong, until I investigated further. I know this may seem like hair splitting, but it is somewhat important to me. Maybe I just like hair splitting, maybe I just want to make this a better place, who knows.
Also thought, you could always promote people faster, to the level of senior patron, which could aswell be "patron". If they don't behave, they could become junior patrons for the duration it takes them to learn how to behave.
This is just an idea, amongst many other ideas, and since I'm not aware of your experience with different kinds of systems, I don't know how much of this has been proven true or wrong. Also I don't know if this belongs to some other thread, if it does, feel free to move it.
Thank you.
