Talking Let's do it again: Mos and beards

    -
The original thread was closed upon the wrath of Lady Frogbeastegg, having experienced a mutation during the transition. ~:p

So, how many of you guys out there have moustaches and beards, or either of them?

    (Gals can reply too )

    I have both.

EDIT: OK, you wanted it! Goatees count as beards. Sideburns I, the mighty high justice of facial hair, count as an extension of hair since I apparently forgot it in the poll options.

Geez again and you still forgot to add Goat-tees and side burns. Maybe not popular over in Eroupe the sideburns sure are in over here in the U.S. and you still can commonly see goat-tees.

Froggy closed it because she did'nt want to tell the truth that she also has a beard

I voted GAH! because I have a goatee, a nice full one that is neatly trimmed and well connected on the sides of the mouth. I got my looks from my mother's side of the family and like most of the men on that side we are required to grow some kind of facial hair in order to maximize our looks, it's an unspoken rule really...

I initially grew a beard halfway through my sophomore year in college and kept it until second semester of my senior year when, at the enthusiastic urging of two close friends, went for the goatee look. It went over well and I got many compliments. I like to consider myself a bit of a trendsetter because when I went goatee in 1992 very few men had them. Now they're everywhere!

Anyway, I'm glad I grew it and will NEVER go back to a clean shaven face. My hair grows in fast and thick and constantly shaving my entire face was such a royal pain in the ass. Now all I need to do is shave the area around the goatee and trim it twice a week. The 5 o'clock shadow that occurs inbetween shavings doesn't look bad at all.

    Neither nor

    I had a moustache when I was 16.

I do not know what got into me at that time
I am considering to burn the pics of that time - the terrible thing is that I still had it when we made the pictures for the yearbook of the high school I attended at that time - so there is a nice, full-colour, goofy-looking picture that keeps reminding me of me juvenile idiocy.

When I loose the hair on my head I might try to grow a beard though...

None. I'm 13, but I shave cause my facial hair grows out quite a bit so i have to shave like once every week or two (I don't though cause it's summer, I wait till I look like a drunk) and I never want one.

tsk, you're just dodging the question, froggy. what did you vote ?
There's no point posting in this thread unless you vote (d).

Edit: Oh yeah, and doesn't someone around here has their signature with a quote from KukriKhan, that a moustache on a woman can be sexy ?

myself, no 'tache; i don't shave very often (lazy) and thus am covered by a more or less thick stubble all the time. so tell me, does that count, so that I know how to vote ? ~:p

I've had moustaches and beards. I shaved all my facial hair when I was in my late 20s/early 30s. In my early 20s, I grew a big fat moustache to imitate Dennis Hopper in Easy Rider. But I have a small nose, and it didn't quite look right.

I'm afraid to grow any facial hair now. I have almost no gray hair on my scalp, but I might have quite a bit on my face. --What I don't know won't hurt me.

Hairpins are light weapons :pulls out yellow bladed lightsabre and medieval broadsword: I always carry backup. I haven't needed to use them since shortly after Christmas.

If that sword is excessively large it will also be very heavy; all I need to do is wait for your arms to get tired, then launch a volley of hairpins. Seems like a waste of time really, since you haven't annoyed me. Have a drink instead :mtwcheers:

Does shaving once a month or so count as a beard? If you ve ever seen a Greek University student before you propably know what i m talking about , 90% of us have this 'unshaved look' . I think that on average i usually have about a week's worth of facial hair , i ve never bothered to trim em into some elaborate shape though ( Which is just as well cause when i was a teenager at least a goattee used to signify you are gay ). All this will come to an end soon ( i hope) when i get a job and have to dress like a penguin and keep a clean face....

I've just recently got my beard trimmed but either it doesn't fit, or my barber can't do it, or both! I won't trim it again but will let it "expand" freely over my face. I tend to keep it short, though.

I've been "working" on my moustache for a few months now and they started to keep firm upwards at last.

Yes, I was confronted with this reality when I returned home to New York City after college in '92. Thankfully the goatee had begun to take hold among heterosexual men by then. But the real key was to keep a thicker, scruffier looking goatee. Gay men typically had the 'cleaner' goatees with thin lines of hair down the sides of the mouth.

Goatee and sideburns for me. I've always had the sideburns, but my wife recently added the goatee. I didn't want it at first, but she's, um, made it worth my while if ya know what I mean. Since its apparently working, I have no plans to get rid of it.

Moustache only. Since 1969. Full beard or goattee every couple years, to see how it looks. Get tired of the maintenance time required, and shave it off, until I get curious again in a few years.

Normally I leave myself with a stubble as long as possible before it turns into beginning of a beard growth then shave it off. I hate shaving as I have real sensitive skin, that is why I try and leave myself with a stubble as long as possible. But ye I voted GAH!

Been experimenting with a full beard and mustache, but there's nothing quite as creepy as a blond mustache. Shaved the mustache and was left with an Amish look that didn't quite suit me. Now, I've got your basic goatee.

Girlfriend hates it all, so it's not clear how much longer I can keep experimenting.
