Lion/Hyena battle

Hyenas have more pounds per square inch in there bit than a lion. A hyena can easily snap a lions bones and this is why when lions and hyenas cross it is usually only a standoff. The lion may kill the hyena but if the win cost a broken leg, both are at a loss.

I loved it when that lion went rushing right past that (baby deer?) Obviously the hyena was probably stalking it and the lion saved its butt otherwise it would have ended up being a nice snack

I know what you say is true, but I have also heard that Hyenas will not mess with a male lion. They will harass and take kills from the females but they almost always scatter when the males comes. Apparently the male is big and powerful enough to do serious damage with just swipes of his paws, being able to break bones and backs.

Some of my fellow patrons expressed the question of what would happen if a tiger and lion meet...

a)would the lion win?
b)would the tiger win?
c)Or will this happen?

A tiger would kill a lion it doesn't matter if its a ambush or not, its bigger, stronger and meaner

A polar bear would pwn a tiger. The tiger would have trouble even getting through the fur, and the bear would just smack it to bits.

There is no doubt about it, Ligers are the undisputed heavyweight champion of the feline world. Unfortunately because of the different numbers of chromosomes possessed by tigers and lions male ligers are born sterile. And the reason why that one particular liger is so massive is because its father was a lion and its mother a tiger. I believe there is a gene (some kind of growth inhibitor) possessed by female lions which prevents their offspring from getting too big but since this guy's mum was a tiger he's grown to gargantuan proportions.

Freakish isn't it? That liger looks like some uber-cat that might have walked the Earth during Pleistocene era.
