Default Anyone have bugs with saved replays?

Yesterday I played a MP battle and I did really good for myself. So I saved the replay. Then last night I watched the replay and towards the end it was entirely different from what actually happened. I won the battle and killed the enemy pretty good but on the replays it shows me getting destroyed on my left flank which I have entirly no recollection of happening. Also, at the very end the enemy has two small units of Bulgarian Brigands. I had 3 cav units. I sent one cav straight for them and the other two flanked on each side. My center cav routed after being shot and the two flankers crushed the brigands from both sides. But that never happens in the replays.

Am I going crazy or is there a bug sometimes?

Are you sure the 'heat of the battle' has just led you to believe things turned out differently to that which they really did? I've saved and watched five MP replays and they all worked out just fine for me.
I do not wish to sound offensive. I just feel that perhaps you were a little mistaken. It may be true that there is a bug with the replays, and if there is, I am sorry.

This is the first time I've had this happen. I guess it could be the heat of battle, but when I watched the replay I honestly had no idea what was going on it was just that muich different from what I had seen when I actually played.

I've had this happen. I've saved literally hundreds of multiplayer replays and it has only happened once.

It wasn't simply a question of mistaken identity either (as in, it wasn't the case that my army was allegedly under the command of someone else and vice versa). Rather, individual units were attributed to me that were actually mine and in other cases inidividual units attributed to me weren't actually mine to begin with. Some kind of corruption of some sort, but I don't believe it is related to the replay file itself because if that had been corrupted by the file system it is unlikely that the replay would play at all. Seems that MTW itself was a bit confused and wrote erroneous data.

My suspicion is that it has something to do with players dropping prematurely. When a player does that it does screw up the end-game stats screen, in that the faction you played in the battle isn't always properly attributed to you if someone drops before the game is done.

Seems to be an obscure bug, but as I said, it only happened once out of many hundreds of multiplayer replays, so I don't imagine it's something to worry about.

Thats intresting you mentioned that. Not sure if it could be it, because one guy left the game early. Don't know if that affected it. But I mean, the replay is just so different from what happened with me its just crazy.

Yes, I had the same problem. I watched it (right after playing the battle) and was totally confused. In many cases, units that appeared to be fighting had no animations because they were supposed to be from the same player (even though I know they weren't). So the way it looked in the replay was just two units from the same side standing next to each other. Then one routs, except it didn't really rout it just moved away and not doing the running animation, etc.

Basically the whole thing was FUBARed in just about every way possible.

Since my team lost the battle I recorded, I'm not exactly devastated the replay didn't pan out =).

Replay for all games seem to occasionally get a bug. How most replays for games works is it is saving data and not video. This occurs when there is a break in the streaming data such as lag or a quick alt-tab(do'nt reccomend it for MTW as you will be helpless for 10 seconds or more) I do'nt know a game out there that doesnt have flaws in its replays and considering its more of an entertainment value than a gameplay conflict they are'nt going to put work into such a tiny flaw.
