I'm not too surprised. The Senior team acquitted itself pretty well in the Asian Cup that just ended.

Iraq do have a good footballing squad. Their achievements in the Asian Cup already mentioned for this year, they've had successes before.

A good footballing team these days only needs to show that it can play well together, and it will beat the over-paid-individual-celebrity teams of most European countries.
