Thread: The MTW Box Cover

    Default The MTW Box Cover

This question has being annoying me for some time: What type of knight/cavalry is on the MTW box cover? (not the viking invasion box)

I'm assuming that everyone has the same picture, the profile view of a knight on a heavily armoured horse, holding a large sword and with a shield on his back.

At a guess I'd say Gothic knight or maybe Gendarmes (sp?). Any thoughts?

    I'd go for gendarme.

Somehow that bloke has got to be french.

    Because:
    -he is handsome!
-he's deliberatly striking a manly, good looking pose, well aware of that camera pointed at him.
-he's looking over his shoulder, double-checking to make sure that he can make that hasted retreat once the actual fight commences...

There's something odd though: he's not using his shield in melee, which should rule out all the heavy sword cavalry from the game....

I agree, there is a distinctive look of Gallic arrogance about him. But shouldn't he be eating his horse instead of riding it?

look at his chest: it has an eagle on it, so I'd say he's german. Probably a late royal knight (gothics have maces instead of swords for hand to hand combat) who has lost his lance somewhere.
