Rome will only work with the Windows XP.

I don't wanna get off on a rant here but............That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

The demo could possibly be win xp only
When a fox kills your chickens, do you kill the pigs for seeing what happened? No you go out and hunt the fox.
Cry havoc and let slip the HOGS of war
It Best Work With 98!
I pledge allegiance to the underworld One nation under dog,There of which I stand alone,A face in the crowdUnsung, against the mold
Without a doubt
Singled out
The only way I know
Stepped out of the line,Like a sheep runs from the herd
Marching out of time,To my own beat now
The only way I know
One light, one mind,Flashing in the dark
Blinded by the silence of a thousand broken hearts
"For crying out loud" she screamed unto me
A free for all,Screw 'em all
You are your own sight
I want to be the minority,I don't need your authority
Down with the moral majority,I want to be the minority
Rome: Total War needs Windows 98SE or later; that's the official word. So none of you need fret that it's exclusive to XP.You will need DirectX 9b.
OK?
Gentlemen should exercise caution and wear stout-sided boots when using the Fintry-Kyle Escape Apparatus. Ladies, children, servants and those of a nervous disposition should be strongly encouraged to seek other means of hurried egress.

thank you for clearing that up, but while you're at it would it be possible to elaborate a bit more on the overall required/recommended system specs. As far as i know there still isn't 'official word' on the exact specs needed? Thanks in advance.Originally Posted by Captain Fishpants

Wanted to emphasize that key word. And it would have been nice for the reviewer to post his system specs and comment on some tech aspects like;Originally Posted by Stuie

Barkhorn.

Barkhorn1x has a point there... We may - most likely do - have very different definitions for the word minimum in this context.
My mimimum requirements: system required to play Rome: Total War at 1024x768 (maybe possibly perhaps 800x600) reasonably smoothly (circa 20-25 frames/sec) with default unit sizes.
Possible mimimum requirements: system required to install Rome: Total War. Play functionality not supported. ~:p
I'm looking forward to it all the same.
It's not illegal to mirror a demo without written consent from the publishers, is it? It is a demo after all...
