Anyone with specs under minimum played the demo yet? how did it turn out?

I pledge allegiance to the underworld One nation under dog,There of which I stand alone,A face in the crowdUnsung, against the mold
Without a doubt
Singled out
The only way I know
Stepped out of the line,Like a sheep runs from the herd
Marching out of time,To my own beat now
The only way I know
One light, one mind,Flashing in the dark
Blinded by the silence of a thousand broken hearts
"For crying out loud" she screamed unto me
A free for all,Screw 'em all
You are your own sight

yes; on an integrated intel video card (64MB, but remember it's integrated on the motherboard).
it's fine.
the video/audio/etc stuff is highly customizable, and it runs fine in 800x600x32bpp
Therapy helps, but screaming obscenities is cheaper.
I meet everything except my 500mhz processer... But I think if I turn things down and stuff, It should run, they probably tested what you need at the least to run 8 armies on one battle field, which never happens in campains

I ran the demo on my laptop first, which is a 1.4 machine with integ video and Graphics card. The demo ran fine, failry quick.
BUT I DIDNT install direct X, so if was a bit choppy with graphics, but the sped was fine and very smooth![]()

The Original HHHHHOWLLLLLLLLLLLLER
Im a Wolves fan, get me out of here......
played it with a PIII 1000 Mhz, 256 MB RAM and a 32 MB videocard. I finished the tutorial, though it was choppy as h*ll even at the lowest settings (I even got a message saying my HD was full, only 16 MB left out of the 600 I should've had after installing the demo!). When I tried Trebia the game crashed to desktop during the intro. I'm getting a new videocard today, so I'll send you an update when I've installed the new card. :)
I tried it on this PC...
Medion Laptop ---
Pentium IV 2.0GHz
512MB Ram
32MB Graphics card (Ati Mobility M6 w/ OmegaDrivers)
The game is very playable on my computer on low settings (yay :)), goes a little choppy in the scene with the whole roman army running over the river, but a steady fps otherwise
I'm on the lower end, but just about within specs:
Athlon 1.3GHz, GEForce3 64MB, plenty of RAM.
Ran like a dream to be honest, I'm actually playing it with all settings to maximum apart from anti-aliasing off, 1280x1024 resolution. It goes at about 10fps during the Trebia fly-over of the armies, but at least 30fps all through the battle, only really notice slowdown when moving the camera quickly over lots of units and scrolling side to side at the same time.
In conclusion, the game certainly runs fine at minimum spec, I imagine if you have less than 64MB video memory you'll need to turn down the detail, lower processor you'll need to watch unit numbers etc.
Edit: I've installed a new graphics card in a laptop before, but you probably can't do it with all models and you'll likely have to go to manufacturer (or eBay in my case) to get the part.

Do you think a P3 500mhz can cut it with options turned down, untill I get an upgrade, Januaryish?

I got it to work with my 32 mb card...800X600X32 with the details turned up...
Make sure to get the latest drivers. That is what was wrong with my computer before. Now everything is fine.![]()

I have a decent spec machine except for the video card:
2.6 MHz
768 Mb memory
Geforce 4 MX 440
I was surprised how well it displayed, even with most video options turned up to medium or high (note that the default settings are pretty awful, no spears for Poeni phalanx and legs tapering to a point without any feet!). Double clicking on a unit's box caused some stuttering/jumping as the camera moved to the unit but I can live with that. A little delay when the battle was fiercest but nothing awful.
Bigger unit sizes and max 20 unit battles when the game comes out might change my mind but I think I'll stick with the Geforce 4 for now, when I was expecting to have to upgrade.
The speed of battles and "arcade feel" are damn annoying though, but that's for another thread...
we have the same notebook. i have the same problem, where did you get your driver? ati site doesn't have itOriginally Posted by Alexander the Pretty Good

I'll share my experience as well: I have a Pentium 733 MHz with 256MB RAM. The demo would start, but not run a battlefield scene at all. After some investigation I realized that although I had installed the latest DirectX, my graphics card did not support it. I went a bit overboard buying a new graphics card (GeForce 5200 256MB) and it now runs fine. If anything, its smoother than M:TW was on the old graphics card. I'm very happy that I've managed to probably get another couple of years grace before upgrading, especially since I'm starting to only really use my Windows machine for games, and R:TW is the only graphics-heavy game I've been interested in lately. I'm also amused by the fact that the graphics card is almost as smart as the CPU, so my PC is like a brontosaurus with a second brain in its backside.Originally Posted by Medieval Assassin

2.60 Ghz CPU
256 MB RAM
Intel Intergrated Video
Demo runs well, not at highest but runs well.
i have an 500 processor with old Intergrated graphics
i could just about get mtw to work and would try the demo but i also have a 56k modem
i hope to get it upgraded soon
I hava an emachine, 2.50 GHz,60GB hard drive, 256MB ram, 3D Intel Extreme graphics APG. I should be OK right? I don`t want to download the demo and have it not work.
I was wondering if these system requirements were good enough:
27.2 gigs of free hard drive space
DirectX 9.0
Intel(R)82845G graphics chipset (64MB shared)
512MB of RAM
2.4GHz of processer speed
XP home
dial-up connection (I h8 it too)

Nice dredge job, Littleman! You could have blown in here and started a new thread but no sir you found an oldie but goody and put it there.
Very commendable. Welcome to the Org.
Your rig sounds OK except for the graphics chipset. Rome really prefers a powerful video card and your Intel would struggle mightily. Might work on the lowest settings with small units. Video is definitely your bottleneck.
Try the demo and see how it looks.
Time flies like the wind. Fruit flies like bananas.
