AGP... I know this has something to do with ram, I have no idea how to change it...
Shine some light on this please?
Also do you know how you tested the specs, did you see what the minimum was to have 8 armies on the field?
Will the specs be the same for the full game?
And did you turn everything down to low to test this out?
Did you test what you need to be zoomed in so far to see the soliers teeth and eyes?

All these questions would be greatly apprciated :)

    "3 year old HP laptop
    1G Athlon
    256 MB SDRAM
8 MB integrated vid (not a typo: 8 MB)"

This gives me hope, although I don't know how much ram you have, I have a 64 MB video card, and 200 ram...

    "
    -P3 750Mhz
    -Geforce 2, 32 Mb
    -SoundBlaster Live Value
    -512 Mb Ram

I turned down all video settings to low, or the lowest; anti-aliasing off."

This also makes me a happy panda,
I just relized, MTW it was recomended to have a 1.2GHZ... I can have 8 people with everything on High and only have the rare low FPS...

I got everything except a advised 3-D Card, so I can't see the menu, mouse etc.

    Have you just been dumped?

I ask because it's usually something like that which causes outbursts like this, needless to say I dissagree completely.

Not that I'm aware of. Depending on the motherboard in your laptop, it may have a default AGP setting that cannot be changed.

Will this pc run RTW? I'm a little worried about it's capabilities.

    LOL, Sasaki Kojiro.

The demo runs fine on mine, but I checked into a upgrade anyway because I want to get "Pacific Fighters" when it comes out. I was pretty shocked to learn that I could upgrade from a 1.3 Mhz processer to a 2+ Mhz for about $100, plus labor. Adding 512 Kb of decent memory would be more expensive.

I tried it on my 730mhz HP AMD Athlon and I had to turn everything down pretty low to get it to run just smooth enough to command the troops...

    My laptop:
    1,3GHz Athlon
    512MB RAM
Integrated video card (Twister-K) with 32Mb allocated

Believe me, this IS low enough...With minimum settings the framerate would allow me to play the demo if I could actually see the units. Tried changing drivers and stuff but there's very little choice of drivers that will support even part of DirectX 9 for this card...Not surprising after Activision told me it wouldn't run MTW (yes, that's M) 'cause it "lacks functionality". The last VI patch made it work. Can I hope CA will make RTW work :-)))))) (please???)

Well, Rome has got better since the demo, my computer runs it alot smoother. I can now have no pegg-legged units, at 60 a piece... Not bad.
