Disenfranchisement
I've just finished reading two threads here which started as RTW problem threads and turned into despair re: how Creative Assembly aren't listening, don't care, and won't make any changes whatsoever because they're cash-hungry slaves to larger market segments.
That may be true, that may be false, I really have no idea. It's certainly happened a number of times to other developers.
What it brings to my mind is something completely different.
The hardcore community are a smaller market segment, they're not only capable of but expecting to modify the game, and they'll have the tools to do so except for major interface issues.
Why would CA put out the effort to modify the game for the hardcore community if that community are going to take it into their own hands to do so?
