Default The Interface and Women Gamers

    hi all,

An interesting experience last night... I was showing off the RTW demo to my six-year old son (whose vocabulary is based on words like 'trebuchet', 'pikemen', and 'kataphraktoi'), and my wife happened to glance at the screen as we started the Trebbia battle -- the LONG modded version -- and she said, "Wow, that's really beautiful."

It made me take a break from coaching my son long enough to just look and think, "yeah, yeah it is".

She was talking about everything --- the interface, the landscape, the lighting effects, the units... she sat down and tried it out for a bit and loved it (TW classic camera).

It's a given that most of the TW nuts are guys, but have any of you all had a wife or other lady give you a reaction on the demo?

My fiance thinks it looks nice, and she watches DB with me. When I was done showing her the demo, she told me she would start getting used to not seeing much of me once the game was released.

What if it is actualy you who are crazy, and I am realy not crazy?... No, you're right... I am crazy.

    lol

Both wives don't have much interest in RTW, if they ever sat on my comp, they'd play the sims... any talk about games is either about the upcoming sims 2 games or the sims.. ~:p

I'm not married, I don't have school, I have nothing else to do... My eyes bleed.
I pledge allegiance to the underworld One nation under dog,There of which I stand alone,A face in the crowdUnsung, against the mold
    Without a doubt
    Singled out
    The only way I know

Stepped out of the line,Like a sheep runs from the herd
Marching out of time,To my own beat now
    The only way I know

One light, one mind,Flashing in the dark
Blinded by the silence of a thousand broken hearts

"For crying out loud" she screamed unto me
A free for all,Screw 'em all
    You are your own sight

My girlfriend thought the demo was pretty wicked. She doesn't play games much, but she does have an Xbox and knows a decent game when she sees one.

But yeah, I told my girlfriend the demo was coming out (this was before it did obviously) and she said "So I shouldn't plan on talking to you for a week then?"

    She knows how it works.
