Google Spiders

I was jsut looking at the who is online section when i saw near the bottom with the guests a google spider what is a google spider? Is it related to the search engine?

Google spider I am geussing is one of the bots google has roaming the world wide web in order to index sites for searching.

spiders are somewhat the same thing as 'gophers', but a bit more sophisticated with a slightly different intent, i believe. if you dont know what gophers are, yes, it's just 'bots' searching out sites to be indexed somewhere.

just for some mild entertainment, go to google and enter your .org online name. surprised me the first time i did this.

wow the org turned up on the first page with my name...even though he was an actual person.

With my other name the whole page is tw related.
