Also, what is the "standard" version for online play? I dont have Vikings Invasion, just MTW1.1 After tinkering with the game after all this time, i kind of feel tempted to try out backstabbing some human opponent :)

Well there are several late units in fact that you can't build until that era, but can build the buildings for... like gothhic stuff I think... So it wouldn't be that different from normal units, except that there is an extra message saying 'gunpowder invented!' so you know you can start make the buildings.
As for the online play, I don't know. Haven't played online yet (need to make my skills a bit better before trying that ;)).
I'd assume the host can choose the settings though (like in which era the game is played)

There is only one type of online play. Its just like a costum battle, with one host choosing the settings like money and map.Originally Posted by Nauris
For the first time I recommand a team battle and just ask allot from your team players. Have fun!
Thanks for responses, guys. Somewhen after AD1300 I was able finally build gunpowder units, yay! :)
I`ll definetly check out the multiplayer part, just to understand how bad I am in this game, hehe.
Its kind of bummer that there isnt a strategic part to multiplayer as well, though. I understand that i could be time eater and lots of waiting would be involved, but I wouldnt mind all that provided I played with bunch of good pals who do not bicker about such stuff.
