Speeds are unbalanced, movement is too quick when compared to say the speed at which skirmishers can throw, its a feat to get off more than one lot of javelins in the time it takes a unit to charge from max javelin range to melee. I think they hold a conference before each volley!

I think running speed is too fast. Killing speed does seem to be ok if units come with equal upgrades but rear attacks from cav seem more lethal.

Higher running speed, 20 units to control and elephants. I feel like wanting to play a FPS just to relax..

I can't say that I find the running speed too fast, however, I'm willing to accept that other, more experienced hands, disagree, and would be happy to have it slowed down somewhat, even if this was hard coded (as opposed to being an option in the game).

We also don't know whether the running speed and other "core" game features will be moddable. Certainly we'll be able to change all manner of things to do with units, battle set up, tech trees etc, but equally there will be a subset, core part of the code that will be sacrosanct, so it is even more important that CA get that part right.

How evey one feel about demo speed?

Slightly moist with a peppery underside.
Am not fully informed but the graphics look nice but to be honest all previous incarnations were rubbish even though I don't know that for sure

When I first tried the demo I thought the kill speed was a bit fast ( I think the troops stats for Hanibal's army are all 0 no morale experience armour etc and the Roman army have quite got stats) and I have now tried a few mods out where you can alter the unit sizes experience weapon and armour stats this seems to increases the fight time alot and reduced kill speed and high experience makes the unit a lot less likley to rout and I'm sure that the buildings in RTW will affect these stats as in MTW & STW so I look forward to some epic battles. Also just a thought on the speed of play. The demo could well be set on arcade battle mode and I think in the preferences text there is a line which says game speed set =15 has anyone tried to alter this to see what happens I think I'll give it a go tonight I'm sure I seen it when I disabled the unit marker arrows and banners.

Personally I can't wait for the game to be released it's a bit like waiting for Xmas when you're a kid

Unit marching speeds have been editable since MI. Kill speeds can be modified by raising defense. Of course you have to balance the reload times for archers as well, but I thought they seemed a little weak as it was.
