Junior Patron -> Senior Patron { posts: (5 + (Q * V) / S) }

where:

Q = # of socks lost in automatic dryers in the past month
V = # children in your immediate bloodline family 5 generations back
S = days until birthday


....

Read New? Please read this first!, that will answer your question. Rank has nothing to do with post count: you can get promoted after one excellent post (though that is rare), or it can take more than a hundred (if you are spamming). The key thing the moderators look for is helpfullnes. If you help others, you are sure to be promoted. If you are friendly and don't spam, you will be promoted as well. Just keep posting and you will be senior patron in two weeks

it's quality, not quantity, that counts. Quality, useful posts should get you promoted in a week or two. On the other hand, i've seen juniors with 3-400 pure spam posts ("HI I'M NEW!", "I AGREE!!!!", "THATS STOOPID!!!", etc.) who've languished for a month before it finally sunk in that post count means zero.

true, some of em got a bit better though. I never really spammed but still had a huge post count a day which only shows my lack of social life.
