Believe it or not, Im totaly with you on this one JAG. This kind of stuff makes me sick to my stomach.
How; in the worlds 'greatest democracy' can this be allowed (ie-constitutional) to happen? Is this not a HUGE conflict of interst here?
Corporations making "donations" to curry political favour...is this not the antithesis of democracy?...do these corporations favour every american with their favour buying? I doubt it.
I find it strange that a people who claim democracy...nay, the best democracy on the planet, can stand by and watch the political system they fought the British for, be corrupted so.....blatantly. And they cheer too! If I were a U.S politicain I would find this incredibly amusing.
Yet, it saddens me that this is what has become of US politics, where is the 'by the people, for the people'? I dont see it here.
When things revolve around money (and Im not just talking politics here either) the focus is removed from point and is redirected towards the mighty Dollar, like it is the be-all and end-all. This is plain wrong and makes a mockery of what democracy is really about.
The sad thing is, many of your ancestors (and mine) and your national hero's died for this glorified fund raiser. Im gratifed it is worth the price they paid...
