I am stunned and some what amazed that none of you - as of yet - have listed the clear - and undoubtly so - favorite for success and all round best team... EVER, as their number 1. Although it did take a few moments to get over the fact that this was the case, I am now able - albeit slowly - to type this message and put you in the right and show you the error of your ways. Now we all know where we stand I will enlighten you as to the best team in existance, it is that team which his worshipped by many, and yes - loved by all, West Ham. Oh we are not good enough to see that name without the presense of a higher being. I bow to you, and to that oh so, great team.![]()

Arsenal are rubbish, we would run them off the park (Colchester United)![]()
I hate arsenal, westham and portugal.![]()
But if it wasn't for Arsènal, who'd stop that ******** Chelsky?
And face it, the whole Premier League is a foreign affair. It's a toy for Irish horse magnates, the Malaysian government, Egyptian whatevers, Russian mobsters and what not.
But then, after 150 year it finally gave the English a chance to see a decent game of footy at home.
I hate Man U.
I'm an Arsenal fan.

Are anyone truly a Chelsea supporter anymore who don't get paid for it? Seems like the same thing as being a fan of Microsoft...
Have to agree with most on Arsenal, go MU!![]()

I am an Arsenal fan, I love arsenal and Henry!!!
Reyes good, Bergkamp evergreen.....!!
No we've just caught up with the rest of the continent who were playing lots of foreigners for years before we did and who were dominated by international financiers: welcome to modern football.Originally Posted by Louis IV the Fat
The major leagues with all the money can attract the best players and managers want the best players regardless of whether they are home grown or not. It is easier for a mega rich team like Arsenal to buy Henry, for example, than groom one of their own, which could take many years.
Mind you, Thierry Henry was rubbish before he went to Arsenal. Before he went there he was an obscure winger of promising skill, but who was going nowhere, playing for Juventus. Now he is one of the best strikers in the world: because of his move to England. Dennis Bergkamp was also one of the mercenaries of Europe before he went to Arsenal. He changed clubs more times than I've had hot dinners. Now he has been at Arsenal for near on 10 years.
BTW, I am not an Arsenal fan.

It is more than just money in football. Chelsea may have the riches, Roman can almost buy anyone he wants, but the team doesn't have the integrity and teamwork enough to play suberbly.
Arsenal has been the most stable club - starting with a lot of same players over several seasons. This is what I like.
Well... i am made this post just for kidding; In fact i was wondering how all the french players are considered in UK.
BTW some words to Louis Le Gros. I have the luck to have have english friends despite of my bad english knolewgde; I had saw a game in Charlton stadium on last 17 may and cannot let you say "but after 150 year it finally gave the English a decent game on footy..." If you waana see football mate cross the channel you will find stadiums with no railings and pubs around them,I know how i am talking, i am one of RC Lens.

A question for you King Edward. A lot of english teams play in red or blue in the same town like everton and liverpool FC can you tell me whath does it's means? the rich and the poor? the west and the east or maybe somethingelse?
Sorry for my French
Hy King Edward, you're accountant too? too fun
Sorry for my French
OK louis le gros, it was not the game of the year but it's allways a great and enjoying time for me and my family to cross the Channel![]()
Sorry for my French
Hi William,
As far as i know there is no specific reasons why towns have red and blue teams, i know different clubs were formed by specific groups (Dock Workers for instance) but i dont think the colour is relevant other than to distinguish them from their rivals. If im wrong about this please someone feel free to correct me!
Im a trainee accountant really, although im not concentrating too hard on my study at the moment!

IIRC Everton football club (just like Celtic) was formed by a catholic priest in the 19th century to divert the attention of the working class from the c**p conditions they lived in. Consequently, the Toffees (Evertons nickname) has traditionally drawn supporters from that faith, whilst the Reds have drawn supporters from Protestant areas. In that respect, Liverpool and Glasgow are very much alike - Rangers = protestant, Celtic = catholic
As to the different colours, not sure. Man U originally played in lime green and yellow quarters (remember the horrible away shirt from 8 years back?)
Ok but what about Sir Clive Woodward for coach of England FC?He's followed footy all his life, has exceptional management skills and not being an international player hasnt held back Sir Alex Ferguson has it? Go on everyone, what's ur thoughts????????

Obviously the famous Glasgow Celtic are the best team in Britain, goes without saying.

Chelsky the best team in Britainof course this must be based on the success in last year's premiership, cup and european football. As opposed to Arsenal who now hold the longest unbeaten run in English football? and there's no way Celtic or Rangers would be anything other than also-rans if they played in the English premiership - as much as it hurts me to say this (being a Scot), but if Celtic or Rangers were to play in that league, they would find it very difficult; the game is of far greater technical skill than in Scotland. Let's face it, whom do they have that puts up a realistic challenge to them, consistently year in year out?
The best premiership side of the moment has to be Arsenal and I'm not a Gooner.

as much as i hate to admit it Arsenal are currently the best side in the Uk but i gotta have failth in my boys to come good, although it was the mighty Chelsea who knocked Arsenal out of the Champions League last season and are infact the last team to beat Arsenal.

True and that was an upset but did Arsene put out his top team? I thought some key players were injured or were suspended? But hey - good game - i remember watching it.Originally Posted by King Edward
I used to like watch Man U play, as they really did play beautiful soccer. But know I have this incredible urge to throw things whenever Ronaldinho smirks, Ryan Giggs isnt the player he was and they really havent replaced Beckham with anyone approaching his quality - passes, crosses and deadballs. With Owen going to Real, they have to be the side to watch - jampacked with talent and skill. Plus the Spanish league is miles in front of the english premiership in terms of technic and skill. But we're gettin there

I never got to watch Chelsea beat Arsenal as i was travelling round China at the time but read all about it on the net and emailed all my Gooner friends!! ha ha

Hmmm - it is a tendency that is creeping in to the British game; gamesmanship some call it, others call it cheating.Originally Posted by King Edward
So do you think Clive Woodward could make it as a footy coach then?

Im not sure really, he will make a decent Manager as long as he has a solid football brain with him.
Woodward is a superb organiser and knows how to get thinks done so i dont think its impossible for him to make the transition. It will be interesting to watch anyway!
As far as 'Gamesmanship' goes, its cheating in my opinion.
