Uh... that a boar (a wild pig). I'm pretty sure thats the symbol for the Germans.
Anyone who has no fear of death himself can succeed in inflicting it.

Psyco, take a closer look, LOL. I do think that there may have been some tribes that used the wild boar as a symbol - but I've never seen this particular picture of one. I think that the devs are having a bit of fun and I admire them for it. I would love to see some evidence to prove that the actual symbol depicted is a historical artifact instead of a modern one. I could be wrong - but I've never seen this particular symbol of a "flaming pig" before, and given the TIME Magazine article where they are discussed as catapult ammunition, I think that the circumstantial evidence is on my side. AND its more fun to think so!![]()

The flag with the boar is for the Gauls, not Germania. The lines above it's back look like a 'mane' to me, but let's not get into an discussion about interpretation of art!![]()
Actually the "mane" on the wild boar is fairly accurate. There are many celtic representations of wild boars which look very close to this simbol. I think any similarity to the flaming pig is only coincidental, but there is some irony there anyway.
This guy on the Gaulic banner should be familiar to any Arkansas football fan.
