MTW still has plenty to offer for me as I have'nt completed it yet . I need closure and thats just playing the English . I've then got to play a muslim faction , and then the byzantines , and then a real hard faction like the danes or turks and then on expert all over again .............. i think by the time I'm done with MTW there'll be a galactic total war on the shelves !!!!!!!!!

The transition from STW to MTW was different than what we are about to witness with RTW. With that in mind, consider this..

After playing MTW for years something hit me and the desire to be a Daimyo rather than a Sultan overcame me. Maybe it was that Last Samurai movie er something, can't recall. Anyway, even though I was fully addicated to this title long ago, I had a great deal of difficulty getting back into playing STW. It was nice to see the throne room again, and the whole Japanese atmosphere (music, icons, artwork, etc) aroused fond memories. It felt all good and there was peace in the universe.

But I couldn't help the nagging of several missing elements that to my surprise really diminished my gameplay. Fighting the same units, smaller maps, interface, missing siege warfare, etc. It's not like I forgot what the game was like. It really distrubed me as STW was some of my best gaming days.

MTW brought us to the otherside of the world and took the limits of STW and redefined them to huge levels. Refinements in almost every area, but it was infact the same engine. Lots was familiar just more of it and presented differently to reflect the new region or era.

RTW is a different fish. It's the same game yes, but it isn't. Is this for the better, most likely, but until we've had it for some time, and get the patches, we don't really know.

I guess it really depends on what you find of value in these TW games. Some people would sell souls for bleeding graphics, some just love the deep richness, or strategy of it all. What I mean to say is, if RTW does cut back on any of the elements that you really dig in MTW, your going to come back to it at some point. But if RTW takes everything and goes to the moon with it in all areas, well, guess I better find a spot on the space shuttle.

I agree too. I simply cannot feel enthusiastic about STW after having played MTW. The same will probably (hopefully) be the case with RTW.

so we have to play as much MTW now as we can, since there is no turning back.
Nope - no sig what so ever.
