Thread: Clone aces TW at sea

Default Clone aces TW at sea

While TW is still way ahead in terms of sheer number and graphics.

Lo and behold a clone with stunning sea battles (look at screenshots).

CA! The clones are nipping at your heels!! Watch out!

I think these are the same developer who did Praetorians(?)

Another feature that is interesting is that you can garrison buildings. Nice.

Still sketchy on the other details.

The graphics seem about equal with that R:TW to me...

And the sea battles look nice.
Nothing close to pity moved inside me. I was sliding over some edge within myself. I was going to rip open his skin with my bare hands, claw past his ribs and tear out his liver and then I was going to eat it, gorging myself on his blood.

It looks like a MTW clone to me. Wonder how it plays...

I played it at Excel London! Looks OK! But still not polished! The strategic map is like in MTW! No 3d ?!?

The sea battles - fine! For the battle map - one word ---- Borring!

Graphics quality is the same as Rome! It will be released in Feb 2005!

Ive looked at the screenshots and the games certainly doesnt seem to be at a stage where any player of the TW series will go out and buy it - doesnt have the panache or substance for me

Anyways, why get this game when there's the Napoleonic mod for MTW VI?

If it's a choice between that and another resource race game i'll buy this first. If RTW is not the game we were expecting we may need another series to take over.

Obviously naval battles have been included in this product because naval battles were far more important than they were in any of the period of the TW games.

It looks ok, but not amazing. And the men seem a bit too large to me...

Just to be fair, Imperial Glory has some advances (notwithstanding the Naval one):

The soldiers are grouped in units but each soldier acts independently from another.

They can garrison buildings during battles, take positions behind trees/boulder, giving them advantage over the enemy (lots of screenies at the UK site version).

One caveat is that there is a 2000 soldier limit per battle and there are only 50 land maps/region.

I'm gonna wait this out (for more info). So long as the gameplay is deep
