The Red Arrows have just finished an air display over St Peter Port here in Guernsey to celebrate the anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

Every time I see those guy I'm so impressed by there abilities to fly in such tight formations and pull off some fantastic moves! Esp when the 2 planes fly so close to each other in opposite directions they look like they are going to crash!

I saw them at the Duxford airshow last weekend. You're right, they are very impressive.

I was sat in my living room in Hitchin (20 miles from Duxford) when I heard this fast approaching ROAR!!!
Having lived near RAF Wittering for most of my life I knew it was one or more military fast jets, rather than the usual Luton bound Easyjet aircraft.
I leapt up ran out onto the street and saw the entire Red Arrow team fly directly over my head, in Diamond formation, with "Smoke On"... not more than 200 feet above my house!

WOW...

PS: spent last week in Elveden CentreParcs, near RAF Lakenheath, being buzzed by F15s... excellent.
