You'll also lose the points if you upgrade to a fortress before the time for this goal has run out.problem can be had as the almos, where you have to build a citadel in Grenada. You have to build it after you get the goal to get the points.

We are all aware that the senses can be deceived, the eyes fooled. But how can we be sure our senses are not being deceived at any particular time, or even all the time? Might I just be a brain in a tank somewhere, tricked all my life into believing in the events of this world by some insane computer? And does my life gain or lose meaning based on my reaction to such solipsism?

You shouldn't get the crusader points before 1205, dunno about the rest.
also, there's no way to raze a single level of the building.
I'd like that as even if you make the mistake of building say a fortress upgrade on top of that, you can rebuild quicker in time.
I think I had the same issue for the Krak when I built an upgrade on top of the citadel.
Rather impressive to get to a fortress in Tripoli before 1200. I imagine a desert with absolutely nothing but a huge stone fortress. The only buildable unit is a peasant...
Nope - no sig what so ever.
that's true. It was kinda bare except for a horse breeder which I built for some turcopoles. (the french desperately needs some HA types)
jinettes are good but sometimes doesn't cut it as I need some arrow skirmish cav.
You can get rid of a single level of a castle by letting the AI invade and capture the province. Some buildings get destroyed, and sometimes th elevel of the castle gets dowgraded by one. It seems the chance of this happening is higher for forts and lower for fortresses. But I have had it happen once when I captured Const. from the Byzantines, their fortress turned into a citadel.Originally Posted by katank

No problems even if they are useless, your conquering provinces points will make it seem as if those GA should have not even been there in the first place.

armchair athlete, I'm quite aware of letting the AI capture it but since I have to take it back, it often gets knocked down two levels due to the siege from the AI taking it and you taking it back.
I don't like the AI to take my provinces anyhow.
BTW, what you observe is the structres going down levels.
the castle upgrades also count so the fortress (plain one) was downgraded to citadel and demiculv towers.
anyhow, the citadel in big C, the only high level fortification in many cases, start as having a barbican upgrade so it's rarely reduced to castle and thus people don't notice.
the keeps however, frequently become fort, motee, and bailey.
actually the higher level castles downgrade pretty often also.
What I hate is when you take a province in a raid, and get a nice big fat citadel or something and find out, when you go to destroy it for cash that you only get 200 florins for it becasue it has barbicam or something upgrade. So, being greedy, you destroy it and the whole thing disappears. Shouldn't there 2,000 florins worth of stone under that upgrade?
