Has anyone ever posted a solution to the Shogun tax rate problem, to ensure that the rate affects loyalty using the previous year's level of taxation rather than the indicated future level?
What I would like to be able to do is to alter the amount a province is worth based on the distance from a daimyo's starting point, with provinces more than two land moves away only being worth a fraction of their normal value, declining with distance. The object would be to limit income, and thus the number of troops that can be put into the field, in the middle and late game. A solution to the tax rate problem would limit income early in the game.
I would also like to remove the player's knowledge of enemy troop numbers and types. The player shouldn't ever get the equivalent of the multiplayer 'agreed forces' screen during a single player campaign, only a screen to organise reinforcements. If the opposing troop numbers are replaced with ???? and the details and leader blanked, the player still has the information from spies and watchtowers on the campaign screen to tell him what the opposition is likely to consist of. And he can always retreat if surprised... Anyone know if this can be done in S:TW?
